Berkhamsted
Citizens
Association
Welcome to the new home of the Berkhamsted Citizens’ Association.

Founded in 1924, the Association has played an important role in the development of Berkhamsted and its organisations, most notably the Local History & Museum Society, the Graham Greene Birthplace Trust, The Chiltern Society and the Town Hall trust.

It also supported setting up branches of national organisations in the town, e.g. The Citizens Advice Bureau.

It continues its major role in taking an active part in seeing that the changes in Berkhamsted and Northchurch are an improvement to the area.

We have an Activities Sub-Committee which organises a program for the year.

We produce a newsletter around 4 times a year for members.

We are involved in the Dacorum Hospital Action Group (DAHG) and information can be found here.
Latest updates are here, here and here

We are a ‘consultee’ for planning applications concerning the town and each issue of the Newsletter carries a report on what the Planning Sub-Committee  gets up to. Any major developments will be flagged up on this site, so don’t think you can avoid us.

Just a taster for your information.

Chairman: Tony Statham, Ashlyns Lodge; Chesham Road, HP4 2ST. Tel 876995

We are currently transferring our old newsletters and other material onto a digital format and you will be able to take a journey down memory lane with me (yep, it’s me who is doing it!)  so keep any eye on both the newsletters (you are a member, aren’t you?) and this site for updated news.

Archives - I suppose you’d better go here

The more members we have, the more effective we can be.
